Football West in Support of Western Australia vs Tasmania NPL State Team Match

Football West have backed the upcoming Western Australia Men’s State Team who will take on Tasmania in a State-of-Origin style clash on September 19th, 2026. Football Tasmania have also backed the historical match which last played in Hobart 1964.

The game will be played at Inglewood United’s Proto DPS Stadium, a week after the New Balance NPL Top Four Cup finals.

Football West have stated that "a coaching team will be announced shortly, with details of the State squad to follow."

The Men’s State Team were last in action 11 months ago against Persebaya Surabaya. The Indonesian professional side won a closely fought encounter 2-0.

The WA-Tasmania game has been organised by Citrus Promotions and Soccer Sensations with Rhys Williams, the former Socceroo.
